The final decision is in! It’s with great pleasure that we announce the Alexa Diabetes Challenge winner: Sugarpod by Wellpepper, a concept for a multimodal care plan solution to improve life for those with type 2 diabetes. The Wellpepper team will take home the $125,000 Challenge grand prize.

Echo Health Ventures’ CEO joins the judging panel

We are pleased to announce that Rob Coppedge has joined the Alexa Diabetes Challenge judging panel. Rob is CEO of Echo Health Ventures and co-founder of Cambia Grove, where he helps innovative new companies in healthcare accelerate to national scale. With more than 20 years in healthcare venture capital, he is a veteran in the industry and brings invaluable experience to our judging panel in advance of Demo Day.

Announcing our finalists: Five solutions show voice tech’s potential in diabetes care

We’ve reached the much-anticipated Alexa Diabetes Challenge finalist announcement. Today, we are proud to announce the five finalists whose concepts utilize artificial intelligence-powered technology, virtual coaching, personalized nutrition assistance, and even a smart foot scanner to improve the lives of those with type 2 diabetes. Each will receive $25,000 and 10,000 AWS promotional credits and advance to the Virtual Accelerator.
